Project Scope
- Constructed to project specifications.
- Construction of landform cover panels along the hillside within the mine and in the tailings pond; included excavation of waste material, hauling fill, placing and compacting;
- Place geotextiles to design;
- Use of GPS powered equipment to build to design, and utilized GPS to track passes required to achieve compaction;
- Installation of geotechnical monitoring equipment;
- Construction of haul road into tailings pond; and,
- Maintenance of the haul road during construction.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Preconstruction meeting with the Main Contractor and the Owner;
- Weekly meetings and progress updates;
- Updates when required to the Main Contractor/Owner regarding technical or site issues or discrepancies encountered. Solutions provided as options when applicable;
- Quality management updates and quality control check sheets of construction progress and material installs;
- Managing extreme weather situations and scheduling delays as a result of weather conditions;
- Diligently coordinating flights for crews turnarounds and freights due to remoteness of location (+/- 4 hours from Whitehorse Yukon);
- Coordination with other subcontractors to complete project works;
- Site inspections with the Main Contractor/Owner; and,
- Final walk through and completion of deficiencies in a timely manner.
