This Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure project was to re-establish access to the community of Old Fort after a section of the Peace Valley slid. This slide cut off access from the community and created a state of emergency. The construction included approximately 1.4 kilometers of temporary access with the establishment of new drainage patterns for run off. While doing so we monitored the stability of the slide, it created quite the challenge for all parties involved. It was satisfying watching the residents return home once the access was opened and seeing them wave and give thumbs up to the construction crew!
